The contempt for women expressed in the new mammogram recommendations (and in the few letters to the Times in support of them — from an insurance consultant and a health “risk management” company!) are just stunning. The letters by the women are so compelling. Please read them at the link below. This is indeed a cynical attempt to cut costs at the cost of women’s lives. Add this to the Congressional rider to the insurance reform bill that will exclude federal support for many reproductive services while the boys still get their steroids and Viagra!Unbelievable. Love the way one guy dismisses “patient advocacy, gender politics or anecdote” as preventing a “careful  analysis.”
