Disney! THANK YOU! At long last Disney’s classic series, Zorro is coming to DVD! I am so damn excited! ::dances:: I love, love, love this series! The original author of the Zorro novel actually consulted with the series (for at least part of the time, it’s been a while since I did my research). However, after the opening episodes, the crew realized Diego wouldn’t be very appealing as a whiny guy, so even the carefree, son of a well-respected Don got to be a character to like.
Sgt. Garcia is totally a favorite of mine *g* Although I do continue to think of him from Babes in Toyland when he sings “slowly, slowly he sank into the sea, without a life preserver he sank into the sea….”
And Bernardo, Diego’s mute manservant? Ah! My favorite character. And yes, our cat Bernie is named after this character.
